after looking at doing the leds on the switches i was glad the type i got had the opening in the side. one reason was that if the switch goes faulty it's just 2 pins to desolder and replace the switch as led is independent from it ans on the board. just a side note use bright leds. and 3mm not 5mm as they wont fit in the switch.

so finally some bits arrived.. so on we go... i got the keycaps and the 12v+ / - module to use fro carts. one nice thing was that it comes with 4 x blank keys.

install almost all the keys tops.. some need to be moved around or swapped..

next is to install the header connector that have not arrived yet.. but i need to check out the 12v+ & 12v- module and the mounting of it..

just a side note to the keyboard.. the stabilizer for space bar goes 180 deg to the others (so the bar is over the top of the switch and not under the switch) as it wont fit otherwise lol

and thank terry.. this one maybe up for sale when finished.. but need it for my case design im doing atm..

ok so the first run of see through MSX1,2,2+ labels.. commercially printed and are scratch / wear resistant so wont rub off easy, also good for the foreign keyboards to make English..

these sell for $2.50 a sheet.

ok so still waiting for some parts to come in to finish this off... so had time to make a shim up for the dc-dc converter (for cartridge use only) and will be in blue to go with the boards.. and 34mm x 26mm in size.. they will be here in 2 weeks..

oh and on a last note tonight the key board with labels on.... i know.. i didn't put the Q on.. just so you can see there was light grey letters under the labels. next key tops will be blanks... also i am going to swap the red ESC key to the Stop key top..

well that was impressive.. the shim / boards arrived today.. so i made a few dc-dc 12v+/- boards up on them and fitted one to the Omega board and they fit just fine..

with the mounting to the OMEGA board i found that a 25mm long pin header was just right (i ran out of short headers in the pic and used long and trimmed off the excess)
