Posted: Wed Jul 30, 2014 7:49 amBe careful when choosing replacement electrolytic caps inside a screen. Don't just chuck in random ones with the same uF rating.
Some will need to have a low ESR, some might be non-polar, some may be high ripple or 5% tolerance etc.
If you just replaced them all with generic parts, you could have worse problems when you're finished. In my recent project I only replaced a couple of caps because the originals were in better shape than some of the new ones I had purchased.
