Gmail, Yahoo and privacy

Postby RonTurner on Wed Jun 25, 2014 2:46 pm

Just looking for some informed opinions here if you happen to be well versed on this topic:

Recently a software program I have written and distributed has become the focus of a group attack
by three or four online forum members (else where, not this forum) they claim it contains
malware internet toolbars, calling home with god knows what, and one
guy is saying his computer is locking and his web cam is being accessed, strange things happening,

saying anti-virus software is isolating it ? but when I run the same anti-virus checker over it
expecting a false positive it reports the software is clean ? these are just some examples :x

Another tactic of one guy is to say he is getting 1000+ spams a day and its crippling his email accounts,
he reported today he has recieved 790+ spam just this morning ? and has been in contact with
yahoo & gmail and claims they are monitoring my activities very carefully ?

sounds like a breach of privacy to me ? (if its true)

I have no idea how to send spam, I thought that would be something conducted in foreign countries with slack laws.

Do you thing a black van will pull up outside my place at 6am, and a bunch of guys with gmail on the back of there jackets will
force my door and seize my computer and for that matter my computer collection

(Im not going to name the software or anything like that as I don't want the troll's to google there way
to this message about it just in case.)

I know that the one thing about gmail watching is true as one of my gmail accounts mysteriously disappeared,
not only that, shortly later a member of this (other) forum reported that gmail had taken down (some) email account(s)
of mine, further evidence that gmail had accessed and read my emails, and he said gmail had been monitoring
my online activities very closely since the beginning of this year ! ( and I had never mentioned the disappearing
email account until now) this is prove positive that gmail has accessed my gmail and had a look inside, where
there is private information, like my Apple Developers account password and my Google App stores account
details and some other personal emails, which I had not yet saved and removed from the email account
(should have done it ages ago).

Because I am 100% certain gmail have accessed my email accounts and read my mail, im going to drop gmail like a rock :x

How could I take this privacy breach further ? any ideas ?

And as we know Google and Yahoo are next to impossible to contact ?

First things first. What does your software actually do? If you're in dodgy territory, it's going to be hard to argue.

Second, contact google and demand an explanation for the disappearance of your gmail account. A mere accusation from some random internet citizen should not be enough to warrant this invasion.

It sounds very much like SOMEONE has been compromised. Possibly not you. Possibly someone who has you as a contact. Possibly one of the accounts google has disabled.

First. Change your gmail password and Check your gmail sent. It may possibly be your account being used in sending spam.

Second, get in touch with your accuser and ask for full headers from these supposed SPAM's he's receiving. I doubt they've come from you, even if they say they have.

Third. Get in touch with google and talk to them about this, and send them the headers. Try and get them barking up the right tree. (assuming it's not your account.)

Fourth. If google don't play ball, contact the privacy commissioner and then fair go.

I'm sure the acuser is not recieveing this spam, I mean come on who gets 1000+ spam a day? And saying a vast majority are being filtered out.so far more than 1000

He wont respond and has been very loud about not to go near my software to others, he has a serious axe to grind.

I don't have any headers as I'm not getting spammed, but this Guy is also saying not to trust my software as it could format your harddrive and saying it doesn't work and its calling home and accessing web cams and causing system failures? Which is of course a fabricated story.

He is also saying yahoo are tracking me and ip's being traced and he has a spreadsheet of data
etc stuff right out of the matrix. Like he is back tracing the ip and its interesting watching someones oneline behaviour.

I can only conclude most of it is fabricated in an attempt to wipe out competing software
My only piece of mind is that I'm not actually involved in spam

I find it very strange to that he knows what Google have been up to, and only Google could have removed that email account.

Admittedly I do have serveral gmail accounts but since I know know Google may decide to check my mail for me they will all be removed.

Just deleted my gmail app and installed a proxy app ;-) don't get me wrong, I'm not a paranoid person when it comes to the WWW but just in case ;-) and its working I now have a dynamic IP.

It sounds like he's 14 and installed a few too many dodgy apps.

Yahoo and Google have better things to worry about. They're not the internet police - they'd only care if you used their services to transmit bulk emails. I'm not sure what happened to your gmail account, but you can actually call google, we've done it at work in the past - there is an NZ office. As for spam, I sent 360,000 emails over the last couple of days, gmail still likes me (on behalf of the govt, not viagra, though)
