I wasn't sure where to put this as it isn't exactly a vintage computer...

I've been trying to repair my GBC. When first switched on it works normally for about 10-15 seconds after that the screen freezes, music and sound effects continue normally and the buttons still work. after being switched off and then back on again the screen becomes completely blank until I leave the GBC off for about half an hour. I opened it up today and the pcb, caps ect. all look normal. Has anyone heard of this happening before? Is it repairable? Thanks in advance for any help, Joe

I've got no experience with GameCube internals, but I'd check voltages from the power supply. Also, caps can go out-of-spec even without looking bad. A Pentium 4 PC of mine had an issue like that. As soon as they got a little warm, boop! All gone.

Ha ha, I meant GameBoy Color . I heard about LSDJ 3 or 4 months back, ever since I've wanted to learn about and hopefully create some chiptunes on the gameboy.

Wow. That's what no sleep gets me. Not sure how I read GBC as GameCube... Sorry!

The half hour delay thing still makes me suspicious of capacitors. Have you tried running it off a power pack though? My friend has a GameBoy SP that only works on charge, even if it has a working battery in it. Connections all look fine.
