The differences are becoming clearer and this looks like all-out war.

Would I buy something which has social networking built into the operating system? I don't think so!

Depends, if it's a bundled app with the iOS release then it's fine, but if it's genuinely integrated in to the OS that would be weird.

Other than Google Maps I tend to get quite annoyed with a lot of Google products. From Gmail to Android (sorry fans). Million features but always seem to lack the final polish (I could rant about this for ages so I'll ssshhh)

Google Maps however is my best friend forever, so I hope Apple's is either significantly better or I can put google maps back on when an update comes out.

Somebody think of the children! I mean the other ecosystems! :)

For what it's worth, WP7 has Facebook integration out of the box; it's opt-in, but it works very well if you have it. Ditto Windows Live (suprise) and uses Bing Maps, not Google Maps. All works pretty well, but that's just my happy user opinion.
