This only works from a flashcart as such - so that it will now work on 16k machines - also works on Altirra emulation.

That shows how big it is coming.

There is a 5200 version of it - little interest here as it is NTSC only console.
There will be 3 versions :
The last version being one for expanded memory 800XL / XEs that should be released soon at the above site.

The game is now semi-playable - showing the kind of attacks to expect in the final version. Probably due in 2015?

Really like the sound track ! and use of colours :D

Could I throw to two cents in, and suggest that it needs another type of alien ship that moves across the screen
in a different formation to the attack waves, and these aliens would shot photo torpedo's (missiles) at you

Maybe also a mother ship every now and then otherwise, your just blasting wave after wave of similar attack formation,
the addition of a second type of attacking ship, shooting back at you would make it impossible to just sit in one
spot and blast at the formation.

even some ground based cannons firing at you would be cool :)

some power-up's to increase the fire power ?

Not trying to knock it, excellent game design :D could listen to the sound track for ages, while blasting those
nasty aliens into the next world :x

Nice GTIA graphics there, also liked the Antic mode 4 stuff.

I liked the parallax scrolling too...

That's a nice touch.

AtariBlast! was completed in Sept 2016 - and can be downloaded from the Atariage website - in 5200 and Atari 8-bit versions.
The former runs off the Atarimax Ultimate 5200 SD cart - the later in 2 versions - one for 8mbit flashcart (eg. Atarimax) - which will run on 16K machines - eg. Atari 400 - it works fine because I tested it out. and another version for Atari 8-bit computers upgraded to 1088K. You have to register with Atariage - to download the files.
They also at the Atarimax website in the forums section. Same condition applies I guess...

Earlier this month - work was completed for the Scramble conversion for Atari 5200 and 8-bit computers.

It's 1/2 down the page for the official version - one at the top of page - is the hacked 5200 version.
Videos have been posted on Youtube and can be found easily there.

This is not a straight conversion of 'Scramble' as other conversions have been. There are some enhancements done to the graphics - with added animations present. It does feature various 'easter eggs' in the game - if you get to the advanced difficulty levels. Any keen arcade games player of the coin-op should be able to get to these - without too much trouble?
The Atari computer version - does support the MegaDrive gamepad - so that two fire buttons will work. The gameplay remains the same as the coin-op game.

A version for PAL in mind will be released some time in the future...

This should end up in the official cart version - that will be available from Atariage - in the next month or so...
The 32K cart will need 32K of RAM minimum to run. Meaning - it will not run on 16K Atari computers.
