Apple Pippin

I've just managed to find and buy a "brand new" Apple Pippin with wired and wireless controllers. For those who don't know what it is - it is a failed attempt by Apple to get into the gaming market in the mid 1990s. While the machine was probably more powerful than the Sony PS1, it was marketed badly.

So far, I have found and downloaded quite a few .iso images of titles and burnt them to see what the fuss wasn't about. So far, Bungie's Super Marathon is pretty damn cool.

Info page for those interested. Quite a rare model. (Mine is the rarer @world model). Very happy with this find.

Interesting. I must admit I'd never heard of this thing!

Cool!!! Never heard of it.

Its described as "more powerful than a PS1" so I presume the games are 3d not 2d?

Must be very rare with so few units ever sold.

Why didn't Apple watch what happened when Commodore tried this any of the three times they tried? The only anomaly to the rule of computers making terrible consoles at the time was the CD32, and even it was technically a market failure, although that was mostly due to bankruptcy ;)

A mate of mine designed the Pippin logo!
