Free C64 boxed & A500 Napier, if you can pick up something

This Commodore auction haul in Napier requires pick up - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =657785647 . I just want the software and was going to get them to post me just the software, but I thought I would try find a collector in Napier/Hamilton who could pick up and send me (some of ) the software and they can have the boxed C64 and Amiga 500 etc out of it.

Any collectors in the region? I need a fairly speedy response. I will try here first before signing up to Retrogamers where I don't know anyone.

How quick does pickup need to be as I will probably be going up that way some time this month for work?

Thanks. I will ask the person and see if it's no problem to hold on to the stuff. I know they want the stuff gone (in the post effort vs pick up side of things), but it may be not so much just to keep the items stored for a few weeks. He will post the software if I can't find any takers, and I gave a price break down for relisting so he'd make an extra $100 or so on the other bits, but pick up was his preference.

I just initially baulked at a cost of $80 postage on two boxes of software ($40 must be the new price hike point from $33? for virtually every slightly larger box) , which I think might have been mostly magazine tapes and disks (which I don't want). But it might not be so easy for the person to provide me the information to select just the items I want. I see NZ Post have a $8 postage bag ( http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-servic ... size-6-bag ) which is big, still has the 3kg weight limit, but no longer the thickness restriction I think they use to have. I reckon in a few of those I'd get all I wanted. It's impossible to see what software there is or how much straining looking at the photos. I think there's $50 enough of software I would want.

My fiancee is driving to Napier next Friday (15th), and returning later in the weekend and is happy to help.
She's a reliable and 'on-time' type of person that has done vintage pickups for me in the past.

Let me know if that suits and we can organize it (unless you've sorted something else, which is all good).

Also have an untested (but visually pretty) Commodore 16 if you're interested. No idea why I bought it in the first place, possibly because I liked the black casing :S

I have had a response from the seller and he is okay to hold onto the items till pick up. I have no fairer way other than first response wins, unless amongst yourselves decide the other person can do the pick up.

To be clear, do you both want the computer bits other than the software that I want? - in case one offer is more to assist me with a pick up rather than to take the left overs to collect / sell / trade with / encrust in a feature wall, in which case I'd be more inclined to go with the one who wants the remaining items.

I will need a few photos of the software so I can select what I want. I am in no hurry for this part, nor items to be posted (postage to be paid by myself), but if we can sort out who can pick up, I will pass on the contact email and phone number (for a phone call contact (a call to arrange pick up was requested) can be made asap to sort out the picking up, in addition to an email).

Thanks for the offers of help. Asci do you have a time you could confirm with the seller?

I have two or three C16s in the collection already thanks. Everyone should have one in their collection, just to confuse anyone who had a C64 and remembers these well without knowing about the C16. It's a great curio, and not far off being the ET Atari cart of the Commodore range.

Hi Yetiseti,

Ill let Spidersweb take first dibs as I am still waiting for a date from head office. It'll probably be later in the month or early December now unfortunately.

Hi asci thanks much for the offer. I have arranged for spidersweb to assist with the pick up now and he has made arrangements for the pick up. There may be some bits of software left over to offer up. I'm just hoping to get my $50+post worth of software out of the auction lot. I will post back once I have more details.

All here safe and sound :)
Have created a video, just need to pop it up and link to it.

Box 1 - 100% C64 - including an as-new FreezeFrame cartridge, most disks have original packaging.
Box 2 - 50% C64 - 50% Amiga - most Amiga titles are missing boxes but they are original disks

C64 titles are mostly disk based but quite a few cassette titles, and 5 ROM titles. Pretty confident you'll want all of the software, it's pretty nice!

acsi - let me know if there was anything you were interested in or are looking for (besides the boxed C64C which is now my precious) because if Yeti doesn't request it, I can easily pass it along to yourself. Also if this C64C works, then that means I can pass-on my already spare C64C to someone as well.

1084S appears to be 'parts only' sadly.

Edit: A500 tested as working, provided you use a paper clip to hold the broken key in the up-position. 1Mb RAM, RTC not detected.
Edit: C64 - kept getting blank screens, got one good boot then a crash, replaced power supply with known good supply and it runs great now. 1541-II also perfect - didn't even need cleaning. Just formatted a disk, wrote a program, saved it to disk, all perfect :)
