Dozens of '80s-90s machines free to a good home in Hamilton

Hi,
I was contacted by someone in Hamilton who must divest himself a collection due changed circumstances. Rather than take all to the landfill, he’s offering them free to a good home, preferably to someone who is prepared to take them all in one lot (or at least those who will take quite a few at one time).

These units must find a home before the end of October otherwise they will be dumped.

The computers include:

Many ‘90s Macs including a few from the 1908s like two Mac Pluses and a Mac SE. There are also a couple of colour classic Macs
A handful of Mac laptops of various types
A number of Apple II’s plus drives and a screen or several
    A number of BBC models
An Amiga and Amiga Plus (plus screen)
    A Commodore PC-10-III
At least one (possibly several) generic PC-compatible (XT?) machines
    A couple of commodore 64s
    Various monitors
Software, manuals and accessories for many of the above

There may be other ones I’ve missed so please check out the uploaded pictures so you can see for yourself. These will give you an idea of what’s there and their condition.

All computers are untested and are as-is, where-is. The donor will not be testing them. Batteries have NOT been removed in those machines that have them, so mileage may vary in this respect.
Machines will be gifted on a first come-first served basis. They MUST be collected and will not be shipped.

If you are interested please contact Logan at the email Lmoss@ihug.co.nz. This is a good opportunity to get a ready-made collection for restoration, or those obtain models you’ve always been looking for.

See the photos below. Click on the photo for the full view.

thanks for sharing Tezza.

Bummer that they cant be shipped. Super lucky for someone who lives near by. I would love a new keyboard for a commodore PC i have. Mine was broken years ago.

If whoever grabs this lot happens to find an amber monochrome PC monitor (MDA/Hercules/MGC) then I'd be interested in buying it - please post a message in here. Looks like there's a Commodore PC in that haul and they sometimes came with such monitors.

In fact if anyone has one anyway, let me know!

Thanks,
Alex

Ive sent a message, and if there is anything that you guys want, i may be able to grab it for you and send it to you.

Im not really interested in any of the Apple stuff. I only interested in any IBM or compatible machines.
I know alot of apple stuff is worth heaps these days, so would be a shame to see it dumped.

I have been in contact with Logan and managed to be first to do so. A couple of things have been arranged to go locally otherwise I will be picking up the rest in a couple of weeks and bringing up to Auckland.

I intend to have a sort through and let you know what is available - I am not likely to be keeping everything. Will be interesting to see what is in the boxes! I should be bringing the items up to Auckland around 14th October.

Feel free to drop me a line (PM) and for those who have contacted Logan he will forward you my email contact. Don't panic if you do not get a response over the next week or so as I am really busy opening a new bakery in Auckland.

Hopefully my garage is big enough!

Just an update for those who are interested. I picked up the computer items from Logan in Hamilton today and made the slow trek back to Auckland, pretty sure the trailer was maxed out for weight!

Seems to be a huge variety of macs including laptops. Several apple IIe although only 1 monitor. BBC computers, secondary processor, light pen(s), acorn computer.

It is going to take a while to sort through and see what is available for those who have made requests and I am working the next 7 days in order to open a new bakery here in Auckland. My CHCH trip will be postponed for a couple of weeks and consequently Wellington, Taupo & Napier will be pushed out as well.

Hi Beaglz,

I'd been keen to get some of that Commodore and Amiga equipment if its not already spoken for. Based in Auckland.

If you're keen to get rid of an Apple II, I'd be keen if you wanted to clear up that pile a little - also located in Auckland. That's one machine I don't have - even if its just as a display piece for the collection here. :)

Just started to sort through the pile - had to build some racking and a test bench. Have begun testing and 1 x amiga 500 is working but with a temperamental disk drive and first apple IIe is showing scrambled text on boot up. Luckily I am off work this week as it is a big job along with all the other stuff to do - water blasting driveway and paths today!
Cheers,
Beaglz
