Powerbook and Imac anyone?

Postby hiberscribe on Fri Dec 30, 2011 1:14 pm

Hello all. I have a couple of old computers gathering dust and am wondering if they are of use to a collector. The first is a Powerbook 180 (my first computer!) bought in the early '90s I think. It doesn't go - not surprising as it was turned off for many years. The second is an imac - the see-through ones - colour aqua. Bought that in 2000 I think. That one does go. Comes with keyboard, cables, and I think I still have the discs. Are they worth anything? If not, can anyone suggest best way to dispose of them?

Thanks in advance
Kate

Hi Kate,

Thanks for posting a note here and alterting members to these old units. You never know who might be interested. They are probably not vintage enough for many collectors but you never know. Better to go to someone who has a used for them than to be dumped.

One thing, can you let people know where in NZ you live? It makes it easier to arrange pick up deals.

The I Mac may have some value depending on specs, you can always try Trademe as a last resort if no one bites here

Hi Tez

Thanks for replying. I'm based in Auckland. If I don't have any luck on these boards I might try them on trademe.
The powerbook would be a good film prop, and the imac would be a good way for someone to learn mac, albeit
with an older OS! I think it also has photoshop 7 on it.

Cheers
Kate
