NZ Company - Antarctic Computing

Postby YetiSeti on Tue Jul 09, 2013 10:14 pm

Does anyone know if Antarctic Computing, a NZ company, was writing software or just a distributor? There is no information to be found about them or their titles on the net. As always, post something on here and wait long enough and someone is sure to stumble across the post with a bit of inside knowledge....

From any number of google hits on pages that have company info dressed with ads all around I found this :
http://nzfirms.com/antarctic-computing- ... ealand.htm

Code: Select all
Business informations for ANTARCTIC COMPUTING LIMITED
NameANTARCTIC COMPUTING LIMITED
Identification number:69894
StateStruck off
Register date18 May 1983
Entity typeNZ Limited Company
Address Registered Office 75 Rosebank Rd, Avondale, Auckland, New Zealand

I have a few examples of software from them shown in album : http://plus.google.com/photos/100619769 ... 6614989121

and the most recent acquisition was just a tape insert (no tape unfortunately) of a Space Invaders game with more commercial looking cover and in colour. I got that from this ZX Spectrum auction - http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/vint ... 083318.htm

From the companies office it was struck off in 1989

This is to certify that ANTARCTIC COMPUTING LIMITED was incorporated under the Companies Act 1955 as a Private Company (Shares) on the 18th day of May 1983
and was removed from the register on the 19th day of July 1989.

I have checked the one title of there's I have too hand "ZX WORD for the ZX81" but there is nothing inside it. I should load the instructions and check. I'm sure I've got some more of their tapes around here somewhere so will keep an eye out for further info.
