Nope sorry :S Windows won't open it so I tried WinRAR.
WinRAR reports "Unexpected end of archive".
Selecting repair archive fixes it, but then the PDF fails its CRC check when extracted.

I noticed it last week and was meaning to ask you what compression program you were using, but sounds like the problem might be with the server it's hosted on.

Can't wait to read the new ones, thanks heaps for scanning these!
I notice x86 machines are starting to make more of an appearance.

Edit: Cancel that, must've cached from earlier in the evening, opening succesfully now and from a different address (www instead of premium). Good stuff

Everything is now working again. Thanks for checking it out.

Yes, an incorrect URL cut and paste caused the problem. Weird thing is the system still allowed the downloading of a file even though when it arrived it was screwed. Anyway, problem solved.

hehe I just wanted to see the PC clone shotout ;)

Waiting to see if my Concord 286-XT makes an appearance at some stage.
NZ based machine with 286 power at an XT cost, seems like something bites and bytes worthy.

Yea, in 1986-87 there was a lot of these kinds of a machines reviewed (until people got a bit sick of it as in "Oh no, not another XT/AT clone review!"). This is where items like the Amiga, the Atari 520/1040 and new Macs were a refreshing change for reviewers.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Concord ad on the back cover while I was flicking through a few of my mags yesterday. I have up until March 1990, after which I think I cancelled my subscription. I just wish I knew what happened to all the missing volumes!

Terry - I'll post off the mags to you tomorrow.

I've now finished scanning all 1986 issues of NZ Bits and Bytes. What a marathon!

It was interesting to go through these and see the trends. Fewer home machines and more PC-compatibles being reviewed. PC prices really dropped during the year. A focus from the home/hobby towards business, as indicated by:
    * Articles on how to play the sharemarket
    * Beer commercials!
    * Adverts for business stationary like marker pens etc
Well, that's all the scanning for a while. Forty eight issues now on the web.
