Anyone know what this card is ?

Behind the ribbon cable its labelled "IN" other side is "OUT"

Socket has half the pins of a Disk Drive (10 pins), hand soldered assembly.

There are no part numbers so I haven't been successful with google

Printed on Card is: Tron Systems & TS/LM/2,0
dated: 1985

IC's are
ic1 Hex inverter, ic2 OCTAL TRANSPARENT LATCH WITH 3-STATE OUTPUTS, ic3 non inverting buffer

If I was to guess at it, i'm wondering if its a cash register controller card ? but definitely seems to
be able to control some kind of external hardware device

I just googled this up...

In fact, the most widely used OS on earth is probably an OS for embedded systems: TRON, and its derivatives, grew out of a project at the University of Tokyo in the 1980s [76]. TRON is really a software specification that has been implemented by a huge number of embedded device manufacturers of consumer devices, ovens, refrigerators, digital cameras, CD players, mobile phones, industrial controllers, and cash registers.

im going to go with the cash register controller since CD players and mobile phones where pretty hard to find in 1985...
that and the guy I got it from mentioned he had done some work with cash register software...
