I started making a few videos of some of my old equipment.

The video is showing the first power on attempt of my IBM AT after several years of storage. The video shows the insides and a wire wrap board I made to play with speech.

This video shows the sound card working sort of. There was a stuck bit so the sound quality is not the greatest. Keep in mind the Sound Blaster was not available yet.

After all of the repairs, this video is the final one showing the home made speech recognition system in operation. I explain how it works during the video.

In this video, I pull apart my original IBM PC. After some cleaning and testing the power supply, it gets turned on for the first time in many years. This computer has a Z80 add on board allowing me to run CPM.

I was wanting to try the 8088MPH demo on this PC. It took a little work to get it running.

Colors for this demo only work with the composite output of the CGA board. Here is my PC connected to an LCD projector. I should have bulk erased the floppy. You will see the read error towards the end of the video...

This is the last video I made showing my Televideo TS803 Z80 CPM computer in operation. I saved this system from destruction 20 some odd years ago. I was able to find all the manuals for it.

Hey Joe - great videos. Did you ever monetise the board and sell it? Your video reminded me of a card I picked up around 1990. It was an 8-bit one (again, pre SoundBlaster - even pre CMS?) coloured yellow/orange and came with a basic headset mic - bought from a local Dick Smith store for around $120. I can remember a simple text menu and waveform playback interface similar to yours - but then again, everything was text based and pretty much looked the same by default.

It came with software that allowed you to train it then run as a TSR routine for speech controlling DOS commands.

Thanks. This is the only one I ever made. Learned a lot building it. Was fun seeing some of this old equipment running again.
