I hate these - they give me nightmares for weeks.

I wonder if I could get away with parking a truck outside with a big sign offering money for classic machines.

They give me nightmares too, I keep dreaming up all of these horrible thoughts of somebody who doesn't know anything about classic computers simply tossing away all the good stuff. It would be very good if they could set up some sort of place where people like us could intercept all the good stuff.

Okay, so it's Nightmare on Elm Street scenario. As we (collectors) all have these dreams.

Are you aware that volunteers are required on the day to 'spot' the vintage items to list on trademe? You can volunteer, phone, call your local organiser on the eday.org.nz site for your particular location. I've been away the last two times and have sorely regretted it. Nothing got sold from Dunedin last year but I was told ahead of time they had spotters.

This is the last chance before proper systems for recycling are set up for next year.

The spotting system sometimes works. My Atari 400 was an e-day "save" which appeared on TradeME.

I actually have some stuff I can put out this e-day. Nothing vintage, just a bog standard CTR monitor or two.
