Hey Tezza,

Did that Apple Monitor IIe work? Just interested to hear how you got on with it.

Cheers,

Hi,

Well, kind of.

It works as monochrome, but I can't get colour on it. I'm wondering if this might be because it's made for NTSC America whereas my Apples are made for PAL countries like New Zealand? However, I'm not sure as it was my understanding that these standards only relate to television signals.

Could be that a capacitor or the like has failed inside, preventing colour from initialising.

A diagnostic job for a rainy day.

Bugger. Thats an interesting thought about the NTSC vs PAL - there used to be some pretty clued up guys on comp.sys.apple2 that would probably be able to answer that question fairy quickly - they probably still lurk there.

Of course, maybe the color/monochrome switch has failed ;-)

Yes. The switch is always a possibility.

I posted a note on the Vintage computer forum in the Apple II section. There are some Applephiles there too.

I want to see if it's just not a US monitor vrs Non-US Apple problem before I start taking the thing apart to investigate further.
