Cannot, somehow, learn modern languages. Loved using BASIC on ZX81, Microbee and Atari 1040. All emulators seem to come from US but perhaps getting one of the early ones would be the best way. Preference is for the Atari. Any helpers out there?

Are you looking for an emulator or an actual machine? As far as emulators go, Gemulator seems to be a popular one. I have a link to it on this page (see the table of emulators).

Thank you! Sounds a distinct possibility though I never knew of it. Thought they went 400, 600 and 800 but in a different way to the 1040. Invercargill sounds a long way from Wellington. If you like to talk my email is ramsayinc@paradise.net.nz. I may have used my google account when I registered but the above works just fine.
All I can find of my computer past (before I surrendered to MS, though I use Open Office and sometimes Firefox) are a manual for Timeworks Publisher 2 and a boxed manual for Timeworks Publishing Partner Professional. Also three 3.5s Sydapp, Scrabble and Family Tree.

Hi Tezza
Got the Sinclair emulator to work but only 40k. May not be enough when I try for a big matrix but may well be enough. Tried Gemulator but it went on about roms and other esoteric items. Too difficult for me. I just like to power up and start work which has been the norm since the ZX81.
