Anything useful for parts?

Postby LilJoe on Thu Feb 19, 2015 4:45 pm

I've seen these relisted a few times. Its the final listing this time, so I've got a couple of questions for those more knowledgeable than me :D. 1) What are these boards for? RAM board? CPU board? 2) Will they have any useful parts?. If they do I might offer the seller something and save it from the tip.

The RAM ICs could be handy, and maybe an 8088, 6502 or a Z80 hidden away in there.

If you don't get it, I might just for the RAM.

EDIT: I can't make out what they're for, but it is pre 1980 I think! I doubt you'd get a working system from those two boards.

I would mostly want it for the RAM, a Z80 would be fun to play around with.

Will be from an old Wang microcomputer - Wang VS or something like that.

I got excited because I want more parts for my Wang Professional Computers, but random boards out of a machine I'll never find the rest of - pass.
Ram chips are a good point though, I was just lining up an order on ebay and they were more expensive than I'd hoped - not sure what's on those boards but I want a stash of fresh 4116, 4416, 4164 and 41256.

p.s. if anyone finds a Wang monochrome display, with two really weird DIN connectors on it and no power jack - I will give you ALL THE THINGS

Ha. Final listing. Again. One of the unanswered questions is me asking for a closeup Pic of the socketed Chips on the right.
