yahhhhh the 2 BW-16 floppy's arived today and i put the first one into the BW-16 and booted it into Floppy with the F as requested and it booted into cpm-3.02

i then decided to look around the disk and it listed the disk fine but i have no info on re-settting the hdd on it as i have no info on it or what software to use to

do it.. also i have to re=open it and check the PSU as when playing around the hdd started to spin down and then came back up and the system frozze so i

re-set.. now hdd takes awhile to spin up and the fdd reads then comes up with an error... so i think the PSU has an issue.. also noticed the display didnt come

on until i did a reset the first time i turned it on.. any help or insight would be great..

just waiting for the bi-polar caps for the other fdd's to finish them off and try the BW-14.. so if anyone wants Low-profile caps for 501/503 and maybe others i

have heaps.. just send me a pm what you after i got 2 orders in so alot of extras.

ok so had some time to check PSU out and who made these cases for the PSU... had to cut the spot welds out to get it open... well after all that it was ok..

so went and looked at boards and cables... could not see anything so unpluged hdd to see if it was ab PSU load thing making it drop voltage.. nope still not

booting the fdd... so removed the motherboard with hdd/fdd board thats attached.. and what a mess ..... under the board the soldering was not good.. so

who every did this realy should have got someone whom knows what they are doing to do it... solder blobs every where, the hadd arached the rybbon cable

with small wires in the through holes and soldered the rybbon cable on top of pcb on both sides.. well after a few hours of swearing and desoldering and cleaning

out desolder pump of solder.. i had only 1 trace to repair.. i have ordered some single row locing plugs and headers to make it so you can un-plug the cable..

so waiting on those as well now.. i did find a broken wire before i desoldered the cable and that was why i did it as the rybbon cable is so easy to break..

I had one of those desolder tools. Was great for awhile but then nearly blew up in my hand

I suggest caution with it.

yes you would have to watch how long you hold the button in fo as it is a diafram design and the coils will heat up.. but other than that its working a treat..

well i looked at the BW-14 keyboard and wondered how easy it would be to open to check the keys as it had rust on the metal former... so de-soldered them.

well that was easy... opening it up i found a mess in there and set to cleanning it up and removing the rust then treating it.
