HUZZAH! SUCCESS!

Some of you may have been reading my quest to get a new screen for my Compaq Portable III. :D

I DID IT! 8D

I finally got a new screen for the computer, and it cost me a LOT LESS than what I would have gotten for another auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 52Fjg%253D

This computer was in bad shape cosmetically. The casing was broken (one side was missing), the computer needed a diagnostic, the HDD chassis was misaligned, and the keyboard cable had severe degradation. However, telling by the pictures, the screen was untouched! 8D

All I have to do is transplant the screen, then cannibalize the computer as I need to! (The hard drive might come in handy for one of my other computers, if it's small enough.)

Yes, often getting a junker to cannabilise can be cheaper than purchasing a specific part. Glad you found one.
