IIgs on trademe

I forgot to add this to my watch list. Did anyone see what it went for?

Looked like a nice example - not sure what ROM version it was tho. Too bad it was in ChCh too - otherwise I might have considered making room in my boot for it ;-)

Hi,

Yes, it went for $139.50. It was on my watchlist.

I wouldn't mind a IIGS as I have everything for it (manuals, software, screen, keyboard, mice) EXCEPT the unit itself. I was gifted on but unfortunately the motherboard suffered death by acid. Not a pretty sight!

This one was in the South Island though and it went for more than I would have been prepared to pay anyway.

But yea...interesting machines...

So that boot still has a few cubic centimeters left in it? :)

Thats a good price alright - still, I suppose the fact that it was complete would have been quite attractive for a lot of people (monitor, drives etc). I wonder what the spec of it was.

That is a sad sight indeed. Is your monitor the colour RGB one? A few years back I sold my IIgs (base unit only, with a couple of drives) on trademe - it was a ROM 01 Woz Edition, from memory it was populated out to 1Mb. At the time I didnt have a monitor and of course the space issue that still plauges me now :) I think it went for $40 or so.

Yep, I'm working on emptying it, but its slow progress - but as its my staging area, I'll be able to make room if I see something really nice ;-)

Yes, it was an RGB monitor.

I still have it but I have no machine to test it on. It seems to get a raster, but none of my machines have a compatible plug.

Interestingly, I did plug that acid-damaged board in after I cleaned it up just to see what the result would be. There was a loud pop. When the smoke cleared, there was a huge crater in one of the ICs on the memory board...lol

There was acid damage to the bottom of the case too. In the end I binned that, the damaged motherboard and exploded memory card but kept the power supply and the top of the case. So apart from the motherboard and bottom of the case, I have all the rest of what I need for a full IIGS system. I'm hoping that one day an old IIGS box will apear on Trade me for a few bucks.
