Now that I have the RGB cable to hook it up to a TV...

Turns out its 9 GB Hard Drive :D

So far Ive got DOS & Windows95 Partitions, im just now creating a Windows 98 Partition

"Will struggle to run windows 95" pffft

I have 100's of matched sets of 72 pin sims tucked away so a memory upgrade could be on the cards, should be able to find 128 mb

Wait till I show it Browsing the Internet :P and Running Doom :)

Photos now show windows 95 running...

Good stuff. You'll have the punters crawling all over it now. Don't you mean files though? The HDD doesn't get partitioned at all. Just a file is created in which you install the PC file system to run the x86 OSs

Later versions of the !PC software are available to download for free which includes win98 video etc. drivers iirc.

Disc setup calls the files Partitions, You create the Partition using !PC Disc setup, its all virtual just as when you create a disk on an emulator its a file not an actual disk

Good to hear drivers for Win98 available, I will be looking for those.

Its actually very responsive under Windows 95, no lag in the slightest, better than any Windows 95 computer I have ever built :D

Because the Hard Drive is plenty big enough , I can fit Windows 3.1 on it 8) its very easy to switch OS

I intend on having Win3.1 / Win95 / Win98 running on this computer.

Try these Gavin http://www.riscos.info/index.php/PC You'll need SparkPlug to access the zip files on the machine if it's not already on your machine (self extracting version) http://davidpilling.com/free.html. I'll have a look though my stash sometime on the weekend and see what I can find.

There is a version of Debian Linux and Net BSD that'll run on RiscPCs but they're a bit messy to setup and they wont run via !PC anyway.

Thanks :) yes SparkPlug is on this computer, and heaps of other software

These computers must have been the Rolls Royce of early PC computing back in the day !!!!

I mean outstanding Video Resolution capibilities and very good expansion possiblities and Dual CPU and ROM based OS etc etc...

Certainly a nice piece of kit alright. Acorn did do some dumb things in it's design though. Like not using PS/2 mice and 32/24bit data path. It's to their credit though that ARM arch. is in so many devices today. You can get adapters to use PS/2 mice though.

Update: I installed DOS and copied Windows 98 CD onto the HDD, ran setup... "Windows 98 requires a computer with a math coprocessor" pops up :( therefore a 586 Card is a must have for running Windows 98 on this computer.

Looks like it will be DOS / Windows 3.1 & Windows 95b

At least I know all the floppies work for sure

Yip. I'd imagine anything with a maths co-pro will do including the DX2/66-DX4/100 cards http://www.apdl.co.uk/parts.htm
