I'm sick of looking at half this stuff, who wants it?

Postby Carcenomy on Sun Jul 20, 2014 4:38 pm

I'm about to move house and have a heap of vintage machines that I'm hauling around that honestly, I have absolutely no interest nor love for. I don't want any money, I just want them the hell out of my life!

Macs! I have heaps of old Macs! I don't even LIKE Macs! Currently there's a Mac Plus, a Classic II, an LC III, an LC475, an LC575, a Performa 580CD, a PowerMac 7200/120, a PowerMac 7300/200 with no power supply and a PowerMac 7600/200 with no power supply, some form of addon graphics card and a Sonnet G3.

There's other stuff too! An Amstrad CPC6128 with monitor! A BBC Master Compact sans the drive box! An Atari 800XL complete in original shipping boxes with receipts! An Atari XEGS that's equally complete in box! Some Apple II drives that went with the IIgs I had that got stolen!

It all needs to go, I have positively no room at the new place for half these machines so I'll be culling down to concentrate on the machines I actually care about - the Commodores.

Could be open to some swaps, looking for bigger machines to complement my plethora of Commodore 64s and Amiga 500s.

Given the nature of these machines with a few exceptions they'll need to be pickup. Get at me guys.

I'd like to express an interest for one Macintosh (or motherboard from III / 475), and for CPC6128 system (machine from my childhood).
However I'd need shipping, and all I really have to swap is PC stuff and cash :/

@Carcenomy

I would be interested in the 800XL.
It would have to be packaged and posted to Australia.
If that is ok Please PM Me prices Please

Most of that stuff wouldn't be terrible to ship, with the exception of the Amstrad's ridiculous powersupply/monitor shenanigans. The computers proper, doable. The LCIII and the CPC you could have for cost of shipping.

Hey Ray, not entirely 100% on sending it all the way to Aussie. I'll keep you in mind though, if it doesn't find a home a bit more locally I'll let you know.

I'd be interested in the Plus, but I'd have to look up shipping costs to Auckland first. I'd assume it'd be pretty expensive.

Alright, thanks for that! Out of curiosity, does it work? I'll still be interested if it doesn't.

To be completely honest, I bought it and haven't ever bothered to power it up since I don't have appropriate System disks for it. Tezza's tales of exploding paper caps didn't help! :)
When I got it there was no mouse either - I since picked one up on TradeMe for $2.00, so it's more or less complete.

Hi Carcenomy,
As of today I can now confirm I will be back in New Zealand within 2 months, as I have just been offered a job in Christchurch.
I'd be very interested in the BBC and the Atari if you are still keen to pass them on.

Cheers again.

An Amstrad CPC6128 with monitor would be great to round out the collection a little. However, I'll have to pass as I don't see myself getting up to Auckland any time soon.
I can totally relate to you not wanting to ship that. I wouldn't either.
