Looking for a Commodore PET or CBM

Postby pcull on Thu Nov 25, 2010 8:01 pm

Howdy all,

Very many moons ago I taught myself programming (using the "Strathclyde BASIC" course) on the Commodore PETs at the Christchurch Polytech library - a mixture of 2001 "compact keyboard" models and some 4008s, with, I think, one 4032 in there for those big programs to run on.

Anyway, just for nostalgia's sake, I'd love to get my hands on an old PET or CBM in working order, if anyone knows of any for sale.

Thanks for your help,

Paul

PS I am in Christchurch at the moment.

Paul,

Alan Gilchrist from Dunedin used to have a Commodore museum with a few Pets. His collection web page is still there, but I know for a fact that the collecton isn't as he sold them all a couple of years ago. Anyway, it might be worth contacting him to find out who bought the machines. The new owner might be ecouraged to part with one?

I believe the collection may even be in CHCH now.

I emailed Alan but in his reply he suggested that I get in contact with this site and forum.

Thanks anyway, will keep hoping that something shows up,

Paul
