I still love this stuff after all these years. I worked in the TRS-80 Model 4 computer assembly plant in San Antonio. Man, those were fun times!

Thanks for the Cassette CAS information. I have found that my System 80 will not load computer audio CAS files. The problem is caused by there not being a long enough delay after the Sync Byte A5 and the start of the three D3 bytes. Found this out by using an Arduino program to simulate CAS audio input to the System 80. Guess System 80's are not as fast as Tandy TRS-80's.

We have two vintage Osborne computers (plus manual) bought in the UK around 1983. If anyone is interested to have these please email me. Otherwise they will be going to computer graveyard as we clear out our house.

My first computer was a 4k TRS-80 CoCo, bought in 1982. Was a regular haunter of the local Radio Shack back in the Compuserve, Tymnet, and Telenet days. Thanks for all the preservation work you do. Hope to see some new YouTube videos soon!

On your System 80 site. Under emulators you reference SDL2TRS a couple times. But the emulator is just sdltrs there is no 2 in the name.

Hello, I've noticed that Bits & Bytes magazine issue 1 No 1 is missing 4 pages (2,3,38,39) and issue 1 no 4 has pages 32 and 33 duplicated. Ive not gone through all of them... Any chance of getting hold of the 4 missing pages mention above? waiting in anticipation
Regards
Chris

I have a complete copy of a DSE-80 technical manual with circuits (approx. 15 double page width).
About 100 pages as a guess with full descriptions of how it all works.
Anyone interested.

Hi Terry, I think we met about 2006-7 via the Massey E-Learning "Train The Trainers" project - I was the system admin for our WebCT-then-Moodle systems at Canterbury. I began in 1982 with an Apple //e but realised it wasn't a serious system and bought a Kaypro with the Wordstar software. This was while teaching in Wanaka in 1984 - my wife got a baby and I got a computer, inevitably followed by PCs. Then I left teaching and after several IT jobs ended up at Canterbury. Your classic computers site is a treasure, I'll visit it regularly though I don't have any old PCs any more due to retirement downsizing.Keep it up!

It has been such a long time since you posted your last video on YouTube, Terry.
I am watching the movie "Superintelligence" in HBO and an Epson QX-10 is mentioned @ minute 23, aprox.
I wanted to see that machine, and YouTube suggested your video. But I was sad that you don't do any more posts, for... 5 years.
I hope you are ok, and I want to thank you for your wonderfull videos, and for sharing your collection.
All the best,
Luís

Hi. I've been interested in computers since my local school bought a TRS-80 Model 1 in 1977/78. We later bought an Amiga (86) and I went on with PC's but have been collecting some "Retro" items since 2016. I saw your Youtube video on the TRS-80 model one. Ian Mavric seems to be the Australian man for them but I'm still looking for a Model 1 system and maybe an Apple II plus like I had fun with at school. Thanks.

Hi, Terry.
I stumbled upon your website while researching the Crush, Crumble and Chomp! game. I try to tell the history of the personal computer industry through ads from computer magazines (https://computeradsfromthepast.substack.com/). I'm very interested in the early days of the PC, so I'm glad to find that wealth of info that is your site.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Terry
I am about to start a degree looking at early NZ computing focussing in particular on the BBS.
Do you have any relevant material regarding BBSs in your database please?
I tried to tweet you but did not succeed.

Hello everyone
Looks like you have a well resourced website Terry. Keep up the good work.
Here at Ecotech Services we occasionally get vintage computers in for recycling. Needless to say they are NOT recycled. They are ogled over by the staff and then put into storage for possible sale at a later date.
Cheers!
