I really enjoyed your presentation of Apple IIe, IBM PC, BBC Micro etc. You bring out the historical context so well. Apple IIe print ads for New Zealand are few and far between, but here are two that recently surfaced:-
What an interesting site. Love the repair stories. Started computers by winning a ZX81 which I sold to help cover the cost of a BBC B. Added a chip and then put a drive in a case I built. Still have lots of discs & parts in the cupboard. Have not run it since way - way back, so suspect it may be too hard.

Cool website, love that you can still show love to the machines even after you pass them on to new friends. Something I've realized about collecting is that we're not really the owners of these objects we cherish, we're the caretakers until we can pass them along to someone else who will enjoy them just as much as we did.

Hi I love your website, have been a long time lurker, I had a System 80 back in he 80's which served me very well. It was well kited out having an internal expansion (floppy/printer) board produced by John Gilbert in Auckland, hard to find information on tis board, I wish I had kept it.

One bit of errata on the following page, under the section 2.3

/system-80/hardware_s80.htm

You really need a dot point to highlight the fact the expansion connecter was not compatible with the TRS-80 (I think is mentioned elsewhere), but it was significant difference (deserves a bullet) because you could only get accessories specifically designed for the machine, TRS-80 ones wouldn't work. I think there may have been an adapter board but I don't know that for certain.

I had a problem trying to transfer some files on my old CPC 6128 and the "write protected error" was a real problem. Luckily your post "Amstrad CPC6128 - Acquisition, drive repair and software stockup" really saved the day. Thanks for the description and the pictures - the right nail and some pliers fixed the problem!
