I just bought an Ihug Surfboard and was wondering if anyone has one, had one, knows much about them or has loaded anything else onto one?
Does anyone know how often they might appear on trademe? They're not likely to appear in Computers/Vintage so I never would have seen them. It's the first one I've seen in the Vintage category. I wonder how many are still out there as obsolete technology they're good recycling/dumping material and not something I would think has been kept around much.
I don't have the manual and have recently deleted the digital camera pics I took a year or so back of the manual I saw in an offline (you know, the traditional type) auction where I took a picture of the front cover and specs on the inside back cover of the manual. It was in a box of books that I knew a dealer would buy and be chucking out the manual but they wouldn't let me have just the manual without bidding on the lot.
2000-2001 might not be considered vintage, but any computing technology that comes and goes without too much success is worthy of a pause (no, not key on the keyboard) why it wasn't so.
I'm in the market for something like this to set up for my nana. She's 90, doesn't know what the internet is, possibly not really what a computer is, but she does use teletext. I think that's a promising sign. I think something that could display some internet pages on different tv channels without nothing more in function than say, a forward, back, home, print and bookmark button would be ideal. I think the internet nowadays is far too confusing and not so age friendly.
