Yes, this got some attention on other classic computer lists I belong when the auction closed.
Some collectors will pay a lot for rarities, where that rarity is connected to a significant cultural icon, in this case the Commodore 64.

Although, I guess if I were a millionaire I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

This selling price makes some sense - it was an unreleased prototype in very small quantities. Still more than I could ever consider.
