PDP 11/45 DEC Found at my attic! What is this?

Hello, I was cleaning up my attic, and I found a huge PDP 11/45 system with more cabinets behind it and loads of circuit boards and original diagrams. I hope someone could tell me more about these things and if they have any value? These things are very heavy! I am planning to give them a good clean up soon.

Wow, that's a nice find. I have no idea of the value, but you are most probably looking at a four digit price tag. You can read about them here and here.

Out of all the things one could find in an attic, that would be one of the best things to find! Incredible! (Maybe with the exception of an Apple 1 or something, in my eyes anyway)

How does one find PDP 11 in his attic? What kind of attic is that? If I wanted an attic like that, where would be the best place to look for one?

I am a bit late but I was wandering what happened to the PDP 11/45?
If you ever want to get rid of it I would be interested in buying it.

I just scored some PDP-11 cards and a backplane, so that front panel is suddenly looking even better.

So he was actually in the Nederlands the whole time! Gaaaa.

I've taken the Harwich - Holland ferry. Very pleasant trip. It's actually a great way to get to Europe from London - a cabin is cheaper than a London hotel room, and has free Internet. So instead of paying though the nose for a London hotel room and then going through the airport security rigamarole, you take a late afternoon train from London to Harwich, get on the ferry, have a nice meal, then retire to the cabin with wireless Internet and on arrival in Holland in the morning it's a short walk to the train station from the Ferry terminal and off to Amsterdam. Simples!
