after a quick clean in the sink with warm water and a dry with paper towel's i put them in the overn on 100 deg for about 15-20 mins to make sure they were dry.. i did try to electro plate them with nickel when it arrived as in my electro rust removal blog but it didn't come out that good ... well not to what i would like so i rust painted the main parts. where there was electrical contact i left the original chrome and didn't paint it..
the only part i did paint was the top cover for the 601 cartridge cover.. that i did in primer and then silver paint to make it look a little more original..
