I've been trying to work out how to connect some monochrome monitors to these two XT's I'm restoring. I've managed to track a couple down, but they both have either damaged cables or had the cables cut off. Managed to track down some 9 pin D connectors to put in place of where the cable comes out of the screen. Second part is replacement cables - found some 9 pin cables that *should* work as video cables OK in another auction.

The concept is reasonably straight forward - mount and solder the connectors onto the monitors' circuit boards where the original cables came from. Connect new cables up. Plug into XT's. Fire them up back up in their original glory.
Sounds simple eh. It gets better - only 6 of the 9 wires/pins are used in a mono cable!!

Where I am stuck/worried is which pin goes where on the monitor circuit boards. I have two different screens (one still has cable attached but badly damaged so could possibly trace that) but both are probably different enough inside to make things interesting. Worse, my family friend who's an electronics guru is away for the holidays.
Advice anyone?
Cheers.
