Would love the lego thing. Pity it's paired with a Platinum and who know's where it will end up with pricing (beyond my price tag for sure). With all the Lego Mindstorms craze at the moment, I'd love to show up the way they're teaching programming at school with all the wysiwyg drag & drop no code programming, instead using this museum piece.

I want the tube off the BBC B too, I think I'll resell the rest if I win once I've taken that.

well, with some luck, if the bidding doesn't go much higher on the BBC you might be able to sell the computer itself for about the same price at a later date. That Tube sounds pretty rare and interesting. I bought the Acorn Electron recently so won't bid on the BBC. I've been meaning to stick the Plus 1 attachment onto the back of the Acorn with the Plus 3 and see how deep it is compared to a BBC B/Master (probably not a good enough reason really for buying it, but I have had to know).

Already tried a couple of bids on the Z88 but didn't want to go above a hundred. A boxed one on ebay just sold for a tenner, and another equipped one for around 15 quid. Which exchange rates in our favour at the moment, you'd probably get one over here for less. However, NZ being a different market (and easier one to buy from), the Z88's have mostly sold in the past for around the $80-$110 mark I think. They are a great machine and I think one wouldn't go amiss in any vintage computer collection.

It would seem so! From memory a BBC with drives was sold on Trade me recently for as little as $40. This one's gone way beyond that.

and there went the Lego Logo thing I wanted. I was out so just had an auto-bid on, but I would have set it higher if I had known (which of course I could never) no familiar names would bid on it either. I expected someone else of the vintage computer regulars to buy it.

Yes, pretty much the kind of prices I expected, with the exception of the BBC. Interesting to see what the Colour Genie will go for? These aren't common machines, but then again they are not that notable either.

First $456 for the BBC
now $46.50 for the Boxed mint condition Colour Genie (which i doubt I'll ever see another).

I might have paid thrice that if someone had jumped in at the end with the bidding, but I don't like to trounce any people who bid up front. Once again, no one else bid at the end as I anticipated so I may have to revise my bidding ethic, or at least read a book on game theory.

Tezza's astute reservation held with obscurity and insufficient things you can do with such a computer, compared to others supported by a raft of more readily available software and add-ons in auctions.

May gun for the C16 'Family Pack'. 'Home' and 'Family' are pretty important aspects in computing history to take note of.

Yes. Although I have two of these machines already, had I known the selling price would have been so low, I would have been tempted to put in a bid...essentially just for the box!
